My nutshell...I’m Kristin Rivas, CPCC, (Certified Professional Co-Active Coach), an accreditation I received from The Coaches Training Institute (CTI).  In addition to coaching, prior to finding my calling as a coach and starting my coaching practice in 2005; I spent 16 years in retail sales, sales management, team building and leadership and I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Southern Maine.

I researched Coaching quite extensively to find the best fit in education for me. My selection of CTI was very intentional, based on their unique coaching model...the "Co-Active". The belief in the value of real connection, intimacy, self-awareness, listening deeply to and nurturing others – the very qualities that inform and inspire what we do, restore us and give our lives fulfilling meaning. The “Co” in Co-Active suggests relationship, connection, intimacy and collaboration; while the “Active” in Co-Active stands for power, direction, action and manifestation. The Co-Active model creates relationship intelligence, transformational change and balances ones self-awareness.

Coaching is "new" to the world, in that it's only 25+ years old. The fact that CTI is the largest and oldest coach training school in the world with courses offered in over 20 countries, was also very attractive to me. The icing on the cake was that CTI was the first school to receive accreditation by the International Coach Federation
(ICF). This is particularily important for credibility in the field, and as the ICF and the American Psychological Association continue efforts to collaborate on the parameters that make up our governing body.

The rest...I have a smokin' hot, Puerto Rican husband; a beautiful daughter who's studying to become a nurse; an amazing, compassionate, empathetic son in fourth grade and another son who is 7 weeks! We have a rescue Shnoodle, named Nora, and a German Shepherd, named Ronin; a corn snake, Jocelyn, and a blue Betta fish, Foodie. I'm also a freelance make-up artist for MAC Cosmetics; I make jewelry and build and restore/upcycle furniture and home décor in my amazing workshop in our house in Wiscasset, ME.
